I started almost a year ago now and I love this place! Best trainers in the capital region! I feel so much stronger than I ever have and I'm truly grateful for Metabolic and their staff!
I have only gone for 3 days and I'm already feeling positive results. The staff is great and motivate me to be better and try harder. I'm now a #metaaddict
I clicked with the trainers and workouts from Day 1. 6am class is perfect for my work schedule. The format is ideal - small groups rotate to stations after hearing a concise demo of the exercises in each station; large round time propped up near a sign listing the exercises; loud music; encouraging trainers circulating to fix form and motivate!

The best full body workout in the capital district! The staff is super positive to keep you going and just when you feel like you have no energy left, the best throwback jam comes on their playlist!
Have been a member since last fall. Trainors are welcoming and supportive. Workouts are modified for all fitness levels. If I miss a day I feel like I just missed out on something awesome.
Not one to normally do these reviews, but I hope that this will reach out to someone who's thinking about joining MM but is unsure. When I first started looking into MM I was hesitant that it wouldn't be the right place for me, despite how badly I wanted to try it out. Although I only joined about a month ago, its already given me a gym experience like no other.
After college ended and I was no longer part of an athletic team, 70 hour work weeks became routine and the going to the gym was for sure on the bottom of my priority list. When I did get there, I was trying to make progress happen on my own but constantly fell short. Deciding to sign up for the MM trial week has already become the best decision I have ever made. I was SO nervous pulling into the parking lot for the first time, I was nervous that I wasn't going to keep up, concerned that I wasn't as fit as some of the people that I saw walking in, the list of worry went on and on. After being greeted within the first few seconds of walking in the door, the nerves started to subside. When it was time for class to start, the trainers showed a modified and advanced version for just about every exercise. Once I saw this, I started to think "yeah maybe this will be okay." and what a great workout it was! When I returned for the second day I was greeted by name. They see hundreds of faces a day but remembered my name. Feeling included so quickly was what set this gym apart from all of the rest.
For the first time (probably ever) I find myself actually "missing" being there on the days where I am unable to make it to the gym. Its been a slow start, but I already know MM will be the place that finally motivates me to hit my goals.
If you're considering a trial- go for it!
Love going here. Amazing workouts and trainers. Really helped me up my fitness to a level I haven't felt I've been at since my sport playing days. Definitely a must try for a workout!

It is a perfect way to lean up with an excellent mix of cardiovascular, weight resistance, and strength conditioning. Not to mention it's a 45 minute workout that leaves one feeling accomplished. ��
I can't imagine anyone doing the trial week and not falling in love with MM. I am getting pushed mentally and physically every time I come here. I am using weights that are at least twice as much as I was using at home and doing exercises that I would never do on my own. The trainers are amazing and motivating. You feel like you have a personal trainer, but have the benefit of a group setting with everyone supporting each other. Joining was the best gift that I have ever given myself.
I have started my trial week and so far I love it. The workouts are different everyday and are challenging your body to improve in so many ways. I already feel a difference. The trainers are very encouraging and supportive. They never leave you hanging if you need help. I highly recommended joining. That's what I plan to do.
For the first time in 20 years I felt that "out of breath, beat down" from a work out! I know it was day 1, but have been searching for that and can't wait to go back!
MM has changed my life! I am strong and feel fantastic! In fact, I can honestly say it is the first time in my life that I feel good about the way I look! It has transformed my body, but most importantly, it has transformed my mind! Since starting MM I am mentally stronger! I am able to push through things that would have defeated me before! It has also helped my running! In June when I joined I ran a 13:15 pace! The other day I ran a 10:53 pace for 4 miles! I am beyond thankful for MM! Joining has really been one of the best decision I have ever made! Oh and one last thing that I love the most, it is a non judgement zone! You can be old, young, out of shape, in shape, male female, it does not matter! The trainers are there for you and work hard to support your success!
Each trainer is different in their own way but amazing.... your treated like an individual and never just a number... it's an addiction & there's a new challenge everyday

I joined the Clifton Park location a few weeks ago. I used to be very, very athletic, and between knee surgeries and a whole host of other life crap getting in the way, I haven't been in a truly challenging athletic environment since 2012. Because of that, I put on a *lot* of weight and certainly don't "look" the athlete part, despite careful eating (I'm one of those unfortunately "hormonally stuck" otherwise very healthy people who get fat when don't exercise).
So, I was really, really intimidated going in - possibly for the first time in my life. I'd been thinking about this for months but really didn't want to spend so much money while things are tight, but hubby and I decided we simply had to - he was in the same boat, so this was our Christmas and birthday present to each other. We rationalized that we'll save money in other things that health brings :). He went the first day, I went with him on the second. I was/am still dealing with a little leftover pneumonia, and had to modify the hell out of certain exercises (pretty sure my R knee will never lunge again!), but the first minute in this place changed my life.
When you're overweight, people can have little "microexpressions" where they are subconsciously, even unintentionally judging you. If it doesn't come out at first, it almost always comes out if you happen to mention anything about fitness or nutrition, a reaction as if "yeah, sure you used to play sports, lady" or "sure you don't eat fast food every day". It stings. That was the thing I feared most.
Well, It was Lynsey, Will and Tyler there my first day, and while one or two members did look at me briefly with a little surprise (but never rude or intentional, and honestly, that's MUCH better than the Y or even at some yoga studios until people know you), but not once did it come from the trainers. The workout was hard AF. But they gave mods, and I was able to do something at each center. The next day, literally <24 hours, I was already stronger and could do more. Weeks later now, I'm blown away by what I can do. I worry less about how much of me is doing it, so to speak, because that will come (or it won't - I just want to be around as long as I can for my kid, you know?). Every single trainer I've met there has made me feel like I really can do it - and helps me get out of my head. There are some elite athletes there, but there are also a lot of regular people, and people new to fitness, working their butts off. That's the more unifying characteristic: we all try really, really hard and inspire and help each other when we need that extra tiny nudge. The trainers know when to push you, and when to look the other way, so you never feel like you failed, but you definitely don't get a chance to slack. It's the perfect balance all trainers should strive for but, until now, I've never seen accomplished. The people are the secret sauce. No idea how they cultivate such an incredible culture, but it's amazing. This is one of the longest reviews I've ever written, and embarrassingly personal, but I know that there are more people out there like me who may be worried about the same things. Just go. You will immediately feel a difference, and immediately realize that you're capable of more than you ever thought possible. And, believe it or not, you'll like it :). Thank you Lynsey, Will and Tyler for making us feel so welcome. <3

Love it love it love it! My lower back is not well and I so desperately wanted to become part of this family and style of training. The trainers are very knowledgeable and though I didn't want to be a bother they insisted on showing me my modifications so I can still receive the calorie burning muscle buildingwork out that I enjoy!
I have been active all my life and I have been doing Metabolic Meltdown for a little over a month. It provides the best work out classes I've ever done, with a different class everyday. I already can feel myself getting stronger, and the trainers are positive, motivating, and push you to your limits. Not only that, but they often provide an alternative or a modified work out for anyone with injuries or who are just starting out. I highly recommend joining this gym �
I joined MM on Wed. I went Thurs, Fri, and Sat. Today is Sunday and I am missing the workout. I have worked out my whole life. This is by far the best workout I have ever done. The trainers are just amazing. They are motivating and challenge you to keep going. Working out with an entire gym full of people as a unit is also very motivating and energizing. I will recommend this awesome place and workout to everyone I know. I can't wait until tomorrow so I can do it again.
I love Metabolic Meltdown. I've been a member for only two months and already I see a huge difference in my body, strength, mobility and flexibility. Hands down, the best workout ever! The workouts keep you on your toes and challenge your body in ways you've never experienced. I mean you see the other reviews. I've been going for about 2 months now since the Colonie location opened. I heard so many positive things about them from people I know, so I decided it's open near me, let me try this. The trainers are amazing, the people that go there are awesome. Everyone in the place builds each other up, they motivate each other. This is from the trainers to the last person that walked in that day. The workouts are absolutely incredible and I always want to come back for more. So..thank you for making me feel part of your family every day.. Thank you for making my quads burn, my backside one to be proud of, my arms jacked, my core tight and every muscle I didn't even know I had burn. I cannot say enough about metabolic and all the trainers . Most challenging workouts that keeps you coming back for more! Monday night was my first ever metabolic class and i have to admit i was so nervous and scared that i wouldnt be able to keep up. I surprised myself and finished the class. The atmosphere is friendly and the trainers are amazing. I love that they walk around giving you encouraging words and helping you improve your workouts. Definitely will be a member of the metabolic family.
Just started Metabolic Meltdown on August 1. I now know the addiction everyone talks about training at Metabolic Meltdown. Loving the workouts and music and looking forward to tomorrow.
Great for all experience levels (I'm not experienced at all) the trainers really motivate you. Kate and Drew are awesome in the 5AM class in Green Island.
I'll keep it brief- simply the best gym experience I've ever had. Best variety of workouts (no two are identical). Best training staff- every trainer Matt has ever hired is excellent. Best environment- the friendly faces and words of encouragement and banger playlists keep me wanting to come back. I hate to miss even a day. Great work guys and thank you!
The trainers remember your name from day one. The workouts are really tough but scalable to all experience levels. Classes are offered at convenient times all day long.
I have been attending this gym now for almost 2 years. I first started down in The Menands/Green Island locations. Then Metabolic Meltdown opened their doors in Clifton Park and I was so very thrilled and excited. What better than gym convenience /nothing. Having the metabolic meltdown classes in such a close location to my home is so beneficial and really helps to reach my fitness goals in regards to attendance.
I've worked with a multitude of instructors in the MM classes and their expertise is highly ranked. They are always so informative. During class, I'm the type of individual that needs & wants to be pushed to the highest of my fitness level and if asked they will always offer that extra little motivation during class. I love this aspect. I also agree with many other MM clients when they talk about getting to know each other in the classes you attend. I think everyone motivates each other to do the best you can in each class - a good feeling that everyone is working together towards a common fitness goal.

Transformative...the only way to describe Metabolic Meltdown. This workout is for everyone...EVERYONE. Two years ago, this 48 year old, overweight, out of shape woman walked into this gym, met a guy named Matt Phelps and a new life began. It is the first time...EVER...that I've sustained, maintained and SUCCEEDED with my fitness goals. That doesn't happen by accident. Metabolic deserves the kudos you see here and more. Welcomed from the first step through the door (and even before when signing up for a trial online!), the experience continues to exceed any expectations. A person who loathed "exercise" a short time ago, now I (mostly) jump out of bed at 430am in order to live a better life. Metabolic Meltdown has facilitated that change for me, not only through exercise, but through the genuine care and support of our #fitfam.

I go to the Clifton Park location and the instructors are top notch and all know exactly what they are doing. They are all beasts at their own fitness and nutrition which makes them extremely knowledgeable. I feel like I could ask any of them anything about leading a healthier life and can look up to them. The classes are a great size (not too big where it jeopardizes your workout). The instructors are on top of your form, pushing your limits, and always interacting with you. The program isn't watered down with large class sizes, preoccupied instructors dealing with other tasks, the same workout everyday, etc, etc. Excellent quality. So happy I found this place, it really has been a great asset to my life!
I LOVE this place. The workouts are amazing. The energy and music are so motivating. The trainers take the time to get to know you and really work with you during all workouts. I look forward to the workout each time I go there. The macro coaching program is exactly what I had been looking for in order to get leaner and stronger.

These workouts are amazing! It's the toughest most rewarding workout I have ever experienced! This is no "chick workout"!!!! Good for all ages, and all shapes and sizes!
I've been going since mid September of 2015, I started macro coaching at the end of December I was 265 as of 5/2 I am at 242. This is an amazing place it's more than a gym. It's like having a personal trainer but in a group setting
One of the things I like the most besides that all the trainers are top notch and very very personable they actually know everyones first name which is impressive all by its self becauae of all the people that attend, it's a no Brainer I go and every workout already planned and set up. I just have to show up and bust my butt. The cross section of people that attend the classes is amazing. There are no reason to be intimidated or ashamed if your out of shape. I was when I started and now it's amazing where I am at. I highly recommend this gym to anyone wanting to get in to the best shape thry can. I garrentee once you go you'll be hooked sore but hooked lol. Also if you have a injury or can't do a certain exercise they will work around it and help you. I can't state enough how this place has changed my life. I have actually got my athletic drive and competitiveness back which I haven't seen in years.
Went here today for the first time. It was awesome! 45 mins flew by, and it was a great workout. I haven't been to gym or did any exercise in forever and I made it through. The staff, and members were friendly, welcoming ,encouraging, and very motivating. I'm doing a week trial now, but I'll definitely be getting a membership!!

My favorite place to be! I've seen more results and faster increase in strength here than I've ever seen with any other workout regimen. So great for an ex-high school/college athlete, with the high intensity group setting. So comfortable working out here and truly leave feeling so great every single time!

Best post college workout by far. Matt and his team of instructors are unbelievable! The workouts are demanding of you both physically and mentally. The instructors push you every class to your max. Even though there are full classes the instructors make the workouts personal. If you are still trying to figure out if you should join or not...do it! It will be the best workout decision you could make!
First time I've found a workout that I want to be a party of. I never dread going to class. The trainers are so supportive and encouraging. They inspire you to want to better yourself. I promise you will see a physical and mental change. Not only will your shape change but you truly do feel like a more positive, happier person. Oh and just a warning: this class is addicting!

This is the best gym around! Classes are challenging but fun at the same time! Since starting over a year ago I can see and feel so many changes. One change that I wouldn't have expected is with running. I used to only be able to run 3 miles and wouldn't have the energy to go further. The weight and strength training with metabolic meltdown has helped me increase my distance and decrease my time. I can run 5-6 miles now with an ease that I never thought I could have, and I have the desire to push myself to go further. This class will change how you think of working out. The trainers are amazing. They are one of the main reasons you continue to go back. They are friendly, they make the classes fun and exciting, but they kick your butt at the same time! They are informative and know when they can push you and know when you're hurting or need rest. They care about every client-it shows by knowing all of our names, what weights were using, what weights we should be pushing to, what exercises we can do more advanced and which we need help with...honestly the most caring, supportive group of trainers out there!
An unbelievable gym in every regard...not only a workout that pushes you and makes you stronger and better every day but people running it who truly care about you and your physical well being. They want the best for you - and will help you get there! If you have any injuries, they help you work around it and through it. Form is everything and they watch and guide and encourage. Love it!!
This is the best gym I have been to, and I have been working out my whole life! The individualized workouts push each person to their limit...and beyond!
I'm in love with this workout. They do things you would never thing of doing at the gym by yourself. I've been there about two moths and I can already see a change in my overall muscle tone and body shape. Amazing!
It really is an AMAZING workout- you can't appreciate how great it is until you've actually done it. No matter your fitness level, they tweak accordingly for you, and continue to do so as you gain strength and results !
